Katana Signature : Osyu Aizu-ju Kanemoto，Bunkyu 2 Nen 8 Gatsu hi Blade length : 70.5 cm Sori : 1.5 cm Era : Late Edo period. Bunkyu era.(Augaust，1862) Kanemoto was born in Aizu Wakamatsu in Tenpo 8(1837). Kanemoto lived in Kyoto in attendance upon Katamori Matsudaira who was the lord of a castle of Aizu in Bunkyu 2（1862）. He was designated the Izumino-kami in Bunkyu 3（1863） and he assumed Master's name of the eleventh Kanesada as a successor. This sword is famous by being sharp well and is well known as the sword which Toshizo Hijikata who is a vice-commander of Shinsengumi which protected the peace and order of Kyoto loved.
